India, Malaysia to commence CECA negotiations

Singapore, Aug 14: India and Malaysia expect to commence negotiations for a Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (CECA) from January 2008, citing strong growth in bilateral trade, according to Kuala Lumpur-based media reports today. K'taka HC quashes case against Narayanamurthy

Bangalore, Aug 14: Karnataka High Court today quashed case against Infosys Chief Mentor Narayanamurthy of 'dishonouring National Anthem'. Justice K Bhakthavatsala, allowing a criminal petition by Mr Narayanamurthy seeking quashing proceedings initiated against him before the Second Additional Chief Metropolitan Court, Bangalore, which took cognance of a complaint filed by Kannada Rakshana Vakilara Vedike, quashed the case stating that he (Mr Narayanamurthy) has not committed any violation of the act and nowhere playing National Anthem through instrument was offensive......

Man poisons wife on suspicions of infidelity

Mumbai, Aug 14 (UNI) A man forcefully administered poison to his wife on suspicions of infidelity at Borivali yesterday, police said today. The victim, Yogita (26) works in a private firm. Her husband Dilip Barut (30), who is HIV positive had been harassing her mentally and physically for the past three years, police said. SC refuses to stay AP Govt's order to release prisoners

New Delhi, Aug 14 (UNI) The Supreme Court today refused to stay the order of Andhra Pradesh Government to release about 1500 prisoners involved in henious crimes on the Independence day, tomorrow. A bench comprising Justices B N Agarwal, Tarun Chatterjee and D K Jain, however, decided to hear the petition filed by advocate R Chandrashekar Reddy, challenging the government order, on August 16. Rowdy hacked to death in Andhra Pradesh

Tirupati, Aug 14: A rowdy was hacked to death by some unidentified persons at Perumalpalli near here last night. Police today said the reason behind the murder of M Yuvaraj (29) was due to personal animosity. The body was sent to Government RUIA hospital for post-mortem, police added. UNI.....
