'No threat to UPA Govt over nuclear deal'

Chennai, Aug 12: Union Minister of Steel, Chemicals and Fertilizers, Ram Vilas Paswan, today dismissed any threat to UPA Government at the Centre in the wake of differences with the Left over the Indo-US nuclear deal.

Talking to reporters here, he said the Left parties had their own agenda regarding US.

''But now that the Prime Minister is scheduled to issue a statement in Parliament tomorrow and later hold discussions with the Left I don't see any embarassment to the government,'' he said.

Mr Paswan, whose Lok Jansakthi Party (LJP) is a consituent of the UPA, ridiculed the BJP on the issue saying they were 'nowhere to be seen in Parliament' to play the role of the Opposition.

BJP has no clear stance on N-deal: Cong

Khargone, MP, Aug 24: Congress General Secretary and MP Arun Kumar has alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party did not display a clear stance vis-a-vis the Indo-US '123' Nuclear Agreement. ''That is why the saffron party is not describing the deal as wrong but nevertheless creating hurdles as it does not desire implementation,'' he told mediapersons at this district headquarters yesterday. Mr Kumar assured that party President Sonia Gandhi was informed of his views regarding selection of a candidate for the Khargone.....
