'Lalu food camps' for flood victims in Bihar

Samastipur, Aug 12 (UNI) In view of extreme food shortage in the flood-hit areas of Bihar, the RJD has decided to open 'Lalu food camps'' to cater to the needs of victims.

A party release here today said the decision to this affect was taken following directives from party president and Union Minister in UPA government Lalu Prasad. Rashtriya Janta Dal(RJD) had also organised these camps at 21 places in north Bihar.

RJD state unit general secretary and MLC Ramchandar Parsad said the food camps were being sponsered by Union Minister for Company Affairs Prem Chand Gupta.

Mr Prasad said the camps would distribute readymade food stuff among the flood victims. He said the rulig NDA government was not efficiently carrying out relief operation in north Bihar.

Montek favours hike in oil prices, economy to grow by 8.5%

New Delhi, Dec 4: Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia today favoured passing on the hike in global crude prices to the Indian consumer, saying sustained high petroleum prices impose a hidden cost on the economy.
