Koyambedu Bus terminal to become hightech

Bangalore, Aug 12 (UNI) Koyambedu bus terminal in Chennai was all set to become a hightech terminal of the country soon with the introduction of modern technology for efficient movement of buses and passengers.

The project concerned by the Union Government's Core Group on Automotive and Research (CAR)is being implemented by the Consortium of Electronic Industries of Karnataka (CLIK).

CAR, Co-Chairman Prof S Mohan told UNI that the project to be completed in about three years time would ensure and organised method of putting all vehicles at one place and the tickets issued well in advance and passengers can even travel in any other bus if a particular bus was late. "It would be like a civil aviation terminal with information on each bus, availability of seats and demand known well in advance for issuing ticket and running extra buses." About CAR, Prof Mohan said that six groups have been formed in different sections. "We have prepared a road map and constituted and identified a number of projects and groups also and they have been given the projects. The projects monitoring is going on right now and new projects are going to be identified. Click is going to take some more projects." UNI

TNTF stage demo opposing VAT in city
