HSG give aid to militancy hit families

Srinagar August 12: The Hind Samachar Group distributed relief among the downtrodden and militancy-hit families in Ganderbal district of central Kashmir.

The relief included 850 bags of Rice and Atta, 250 blankets and 350 dresses including 100 frocks for ladies.

The Punjab National Bank (PNB) has also announced to distribute Rs 20000 to each 199 downtrodden and Below Poverty Line (BPL) families.

These beneficiaries have already been identified and sponsored by the same group.

Jammu and Kashmir forest minister Qazi Mohammad Afzal appreciated the gestures of Hind Samarchar Group for providing succour to the marginalised.

He said such moves help in supplementing government efforts in raising socio-economic standard of weaker sections of society.

The Minister expressed hope that the group would continue its endeavours in uplifting economic status of the poor lot of society by extending the scope to other areas of the state.

India, Pak Auditors General discuss cooperation

New Delhi, Mar 13: India and Pakistan today agreed to strengthen cooperation between the Supreme Audit Institutions (SAI) of the two countries in areas of public audit and accounts. Pakistan's Auditor General Mohammed Yunis Khan, currently on a five-day visit o India, met Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) Vijayendra Kaul and discussed with him ways to strengthen cooperation between the SAIs of the two countries. Mr Khan who arrived here yesterday, also met senior officials.....
