Dr Vasant Pawar gets Dnyanganga award

Nashik, Aug 12 (UNI) MLC Dr Vasant Pawar, a member of Medical Council of India and general secretary of Nashik District Maratha Vidya Prasarak Samaj, was bestowed with the first 'Dnyanganga Award 2007' for his contribution to medical, educational, political and social fields.

The award was presented to Dr Pawar at the hands of Dr M S Gosavi, eminent management scientist and secretary of Gokhale Education Society, here on Friday.

The award has been instituted by Synergy Foundation, a local social organisation.

Machilipatnam,Aug 14: The Potti Sriramulu Telugu University will organise a five-day long all India Kuchipudi Dance Festival during the last week of December, at Kalapeetam, about 25 KMs from here.The Executive Council member Y K D Prasada Rao and Principal of the Kalapeetham, Dr V Ramalinga Sastry told UNI the other classical Indian dance forums, including Odissi, Kathak, Kathakali, Manipuri and Bharatanatyam would also be part of the festival. The objective of conducting such a festival was to present all dance forums.....

Four-members of family commit suicide

Kozhikode, Aug 24: Four members of a family allegedly committed suicide at Ramanattukara in the district.Police said bodies of Anilal(42), Sindhu(35) and their twin daughters Anjali and Anusree were found at their Olippilpara residence early in the morning.While Anilal was found hanging, preliminary investigation revealed that the others died due to consumption of poison.The bodies had been sent for post-mortem, police added.UNI.....
