Cool wind, overcast sky a respite from warm, humid weather in Delhi

New Delhi, Aug 12 (UNI) Cool Westerly winds and a heavily overcast sky today brought tremendous relief to the people of Delhi from the hot and humid conditions prevailing since the beginning of the week.

After two days of Sunny weather, a heavily overcast sky welcomed Delhiites this morning, indicating possibility of rains later today or the next few days and bringing mercury downto 34 degrees Celsius.

The maximum temperature dropped from 35.4 Degree Celsius yesterday to 34 Degree C.

Weathermen attribute the heavily overcast sky to the formation of a well marked low pressure area over Northwest Bay of Bengal which could lead to rainfall in Delhi and other plains of Northwest India in the next two to three days.

''The current meteorological analysis suggests scattered to fairly widespread rainfall over adjoining plains of Northwest India during the next two to three days,''the Met office said.

The Met office has forecast a generally cloudy sky in Delhi during the next 24 hours with a possibility of one or two spells of rain or thundershowers.
