Yediyurappa is the next Chief Minister: Anantkumar

Hubli, Aug 3: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) senior leader and former union minister Anantkumar today clarified that Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa would become the next Chief Minister of Karnataka.

Talking to newsmen here, he said there should not be any doubt on this as both the party executive and the agreement between Janata Dal (S) and BJP were clear on the matter and Mr Yediyurappa would be the next Chief Minister.

Mr Anantkumar's assertion assumes importance as he had been seen as the leader of the group in the party which was earlier not happy with Mr Yediyurappa being projected as the Chief Ministerial candidate from the BJP.

He criticised the UPA government at Center accusing it of showing step motherly attitude towards Karnataka and said his party would press in the parliament to release sufficient funds to the state under Vidhrbha model package.
