Vehicle lifters nabbed, police car recovered

Hyderabad, Aug 3 (UNI) A gang of vehicle lifters, who stole a police car, was nabbed by the Task Force of Hyderabad police today.

According to police, Prattipati Pradip of Guntur had specialised in vehicle lifting from the age of 16 and was recently released from Chanchalguda prison after serving a sentence.

Pradip used to lift cars and motorcycles of persons, who were likely to be away doing shopping or attending to some other business for a long time, from the parking lots.

After his release from the jail, he formed a gang which continued the same modus operandi. They recently stole a police vehicle and moved around in it for some days.

The police ultimately caught the gang and recovered the vehicles they had stolen, an official release said.

Fire at former HMV factory

Barrackpore, Aug 3 (UNI) A substantial quantum cassette, musical programming articles, and documents of Saregama company were gutted in a fire that broke out today in its godown at Dum Dum factory, about 15 kms north of Kolkata. Govt serious about tackling water-logging,officials under watch
