Two IPS officers promoted as ADGP

Kohima, Aug 3 (UNI) The Nagaland government has ordered promotion of two senior IPS officers to the rank of Additional Director General of Police (ADGP).

The decision was issued yesterday a Notification by the Home Commissioner Sentiyanger Imchen. The notification said that Senior IPS officer CP Giri, former Inspector General of Police(Training and Border) and the first IPS officer holding the post of Home Secretary in the state has been promoted as the ADGP(Operations) with effect from May 31.

Another IPS officer K Kire has also been ordered to be promoted with effect from September 1. The Notification further ordered that NN Ngullie, IPS, former DIG(Range) Mokokchung, has been promoted as the IGP(Training and Border) with effect from May 31.

L Thechamo Lotha, IPS, presently the DIG(Headquaters), has been promoted as the IGP(Headquaters) with effect from September 1 and M Chasie, NPS, Commandant of Nagaland Armed Police Training College (NAPTC) had been ordered to be promoted as DIGP (NAP) with immediate effect.

Indian ships can now touch Pakistani shores

New Delhi, Aug 3 (UNI) Indian ships will now be allowed to touch the Pakistani ports for unloading the cargos after a shipping protocol was signed between the two countries, Pakistan Commerce Secretary Syed Asif Shah said today. 123 accord assures nuclear fuel supply to India

Kazi's last rites completed with state honours

Gangtok, Aug 3 (UNI) The last rites of former Sikkim chief minister Kazi Lhendup Dorji Khangserpa were completed with full state honours today at Rumtek in East Sikkim. Late Mr Kazi was a forerunner in establishing democracy in Sikkim and had been instrumental in the state's merger with the Indian Union. He expired at his Kalimpong residence on July 28.
