Senior excise official accused of sexual exploitation

Bareilly, Aug 3 (UNI) A senior excise department official here has been accused of sexually exploiting a divorcee hailing from Jharkhand.

The victim Kiran Sinha met the Inspector General of Police (IG) Gurbachan Singh here today and narrated her woes to him.

Later, Mr Singh ordered the registration of a case against assistant excise commissioner (enforcement) Daroga Singh Yadav.

She claimed Yadav had engaged her as domestic help last year, but started to sexually exploit her.

When she became pregnant, he took her to a private hospital and forced her to undergo an abortion, she alleged.

Later, Yadav threw Kiran out of his house.

Meanwhile, a departmental probe is also underway against Yadav.

AP HC reserves order on Mudigonda firing

Hyderabad, Aug 3 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh High Court today reserved orders on a public interest litigation, seeking judicial inquiry by a sitting judge into the Mudigonda firing in Khammam district, which claimed seven lives. A Division Bench, comprising Chief Justice G S Singhvi and Mr Justice C V Nagarjuna Reddy, heard the arguments of both sides, before concluding hearing on the PIL, filed by TDP leader Prasad. Sisters stabbed by unemployed brother, accused absconding

New Delhi, Aug 3 (UNI) Two sisters were critically injured after being stabbed multiple times by their unemployed brother in West Delhi's Uttam Nagar area. The condition of one of them, Rani (32), who received nearly eight stabbings, is said to be serious, said the police. Conflict Of Interest In Ex-CJI's Sealing Order: Bhushan

New Delhi, Aug 3 (UNI) A former Chief Justice of India was today accused of having disregarded a conflict of interest involving his sons' mall business in ordering ''the process of sealing'' residential properties being used for commercial purposes.
