Senior excise official accused of sexual exploitation

Bareilly, Aug 3 (UNI) A senior excise department official here has been accused of sexually exploiting a divorcee hailing from Jharkhand.

The victim Kiran Sinha met the Inspector General of Police (IG) Gurbachan Singh here today and narrated her woes to him.

Later, Mr Singh ordered the registration of a case against assistant excise commissioner (enforcement) Daroga Singh Yadav.

She claimed Yadav had engaged her as domestic help last year, but started to sexually exploit her.

When she became pregnant, he took her to a private hospital and forced her to undergo an abortion, she alleged.

Later, Yadav threw Kiran out of his house.

Meanwhile, a departmental probe is also underway against Yadav.

Kerala HC disposes writ petition on schooling of HIV children

Kochi, Aug 3 (UNI) The Kerala High Court today disposed of a writ petition, seeking schooling for five HIV affected children after the school management filed an affidavit, stating that it had no objection in permitting the students to continue their studies there. Hyderabad, Aug 3 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh High Court today reserved orders on a public interest litigation, seeking judicial inquiry by a sitting judge into the Mudigonda firing in Khammam district, which claimed seven lives.
