Retd Lt Col of Ugandan army arrested near Jammu cant

Jammu, Aug 3 (UNI) A retired officer of Ugandan army was arrested under suspicious circumstances near high-security cantonment here at Satwari today, official sources said.

''He revealed his name as Lt Col Rashid Hasan (retd), and had worked for Ugandan army for 15 years,'' the sources told UNI.

Lt Col Hasan, who was caught wearing safari suit and round white cap, disclosed that he had taken exile after his father was executed by the Uganda government.

Hasan was not carryimg any valid documents to prove his identity, the army personnel who had apprehended him said, adding, ''what we know had been revealed by him (Ugandan army veteran) during questioning.'' Confirming the arrest made by the army, defence ministry spokesman Lt Col S B Goswamy said the Ugandan army veteran was handed over to Satwari police for further investigation.

Three ULFA cadres held, explosives seized

Guwahati, Aug 3 (UNI) Three ULFA rebels were arrested from different hideouts here late last night, police informed today. One Dibjyoti Baruah (23) was arrested from Santipur area of the city. Police said 25 detonators, four packets of liquid explosive gel, two bundles of fuse wire and some flexible wire were recovered from him. TCS to build Integrated Financial Management Solution for IOM

New Delhi, Aug 3 (UNI) Leading business solutions provider Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) today said it will build and implement an integrated financial management solution for the International Organisation for Migration (IOM). In a multi-year engagement, TCS will implement a comprehensive system that will provide a global solution for accounting, budgeting, donor relations, treasury, funds, grants management and donor reporting, said a statement. The system will also provide a corporate financial tool connecting IOM's field missions.....
