Pleasant weather makes day for Delhiites despite brief rains

New Delhi, Aug 3 (UNI) After days of 'dry and humid' weather for days at length, the pleasant spell of rains continued with its play in the Capital today with slight showers reported in parts of Delhi.

The weather office reported 18.6 mm rainfall till 0830 hrs and another 0.4 mm till 1730 hrs, even as the day's maximum temperature at 30.1 degrees celsius and minimum at 24.7 degrees kept the weather pleasant and hearty for Delhiites.

Moreover, with short spells of rainfalls Delhiites were spared the agony of traffic jams, water-logged streets and a woesome soggy day like yesterday which ripped the MCD's claims of civic amenities well in place for the monsoons.

Predicting a generally cloudy sky with few spells of rainfall or thunderstorm, the weatherman said nevertheless a couple of 'heavy spells' in some parts of Delhi could not be ruled out.

Heaving a sigh of relief, administration and police did not report any major traffic jams or water logging from any part of the city.
