One of the 8 infiltrators killed near LoC was missing in Kashmir

Srinagar, Aug 3 (UNI) One of the eight Pakistani infiltrators killed near the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri sector on Tuesday last, was reported missing in the Kashmir valley since 1993.

A police spokesman said all the eight bodies of militants were handed over to police by the army at Bijhama.

A colonel and a soldier were also killed in the encounter.

He said seven of the slain militants could not be identified.

However, one of them was identified as Ghulam Rasool Mir, resident of Hill Patheri, Bijhama in the Uri sector.

He said Mir had crossed over to Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) in 1993 for receiving arms training and his family members had filed a missing report in the local police station.

Eight AK rifles, 16 magzines, 315 rounds of ammunition, three grenades, one GPS, one solar battery charger, one wire cutter, one coloured photo copy of Indian map( matric infiltration area) and five acid bottles were recovered from the slain militants.
