MP records hike in revenue earning

Bhopal, Aug 3 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh registered an increase of about 25 per cent in total revenue receipts in 2006-07 (Rs 25,694 crore) compared to 2005-06 (Rs 20,597 crore), official sources said.

The previous fiscal registered a 10.36 per cent decline in non-plan expenditure and a 32.94 per cent increase in plan expenditure.

Total receipts in 2006-07 were 9.43 per cent higher than the budget estimate. Tax earning stood at Rs 18,562 crore, 20 per cent higher than 2005-06.

Bhopal, Aug 3 (UNI) BJP General Secretary Gopinath Munde today said that review was underway to determine the future of the party's alliance with the Shiv Sena. ''First, the Sena supported Congress candidate Pratibha Patil in the recent presidential poll and is now bringing up (Union Agriculture Minister) Sharad Pawar's name for the Prime Minister's post,'' he told journalists here. Bhopal, Aug 3 (UNI) Alleging a Rs 1,400-crore scam in wheat import, BJP General Secretary and Kisan Andolan Convenor Gopinath Munde today demanded that the deal be cancelled and a high-level inquiry conducted.
