Minor girl raped in Kangra district of HP

Dharamshala, Aug 3 (UNI) A minor boy raped a minor girl from Chhattisgarh in a village in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday night when her parents were not at home, district ASP Santosh Patial said today.

The ten-year old girl, a resident of Chattisgarh, had gone to a ond to wash the utensils when the 15-year boy from Bihar dragged her to a secluded place and raped her.

Mr Patial said the boy also threatened the girl with dire consequences if she told about the rape to anyone and the incident only came to light after she narrated the incident to her mother who approached the police with her complaint.

The police immediately rushed to the spot and arrested the boy and a case has been registered against him under sections 376 and 506 of the IPC, he said.

He said the victim has been sent for the medical examination and investigations were on.

Death toll due to gastroentertis rises to two

Gulbarga, Aug 3 (UNI) The death toll due to gastroentertis in Kakere village in the district has risen to two today with the death of a Gram Panchayat member. The condition of seven persons was stated to be critical. As many as 250 people developed vomiting sensation on August one due to drinking of contaminated water. Ex-ICDP officer gets jail

Hoshangabad, MP, Aug 3 (UNI) A local court today sentenced the then Integrated Child Development Project officer to three years' imprisonment and a fine of Rs 1,000 for cheating. Judicial Magistrate Deepali Sharma awarded the punishment to Ramila Javde who, according to prosecution, siphoned off money during her posting in this district's Babai about 15 years back after making bogus appointments of anganwadi workers and also underpaid genuine workers.
