Man sentenced, then set free in Anand

Anand, Aug 2 (UNI) A fast track court here sentenced a man to six months imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 500 before setting him free, as he had been in jail for the past 13 months.

Fast track court judge S I Timbaliya yesterday sentenced Vikram Lalji Chauhan of Bin Talao area of Khambhat for forging the birth certificate of a minor girl and his own over a year ago.

Vikram had taken a minor girl to Bhavnagar and then altered her birth certificate. She was shown as born in 1987 instead of 1989, while he altered his birth certifcate from 1989 to 1984.
