Malhotra snubs CBI summon for questioning

New Delhi, Aug 3 (UNI) Cocking a snook for the second consecutive day, land scam accused Ashok Malhotra today failed to turn up at the CBI office for an interrogation in connection with the over 5,000 plot land allotment scandal said to involve several political big wigs.

Malhotra, who was summoned for the second day by the CBI for questioning after raids led to the seizure of ''thousands and thousands'' of documents at his premises on July 31, failed to turn up today, a CBI official said.

''Inspection of the seized documents have indicated the involvement of Ashok Malhotra in other scams, besides the Dhirpur land case.'' We are trying to get him, the official added while accepting that his 'non appearance' was a snub for the investigating agency.

More than 50 luxury cars were seized, along with papers pertaining to DDA land allotment to the poorer sections of the society, from the premises of the accused in raids by the CBI on Wednesday and Thursday last.
