Khandu urges Army to maintain cordial relation with people

Itanagar, Aug 3 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu has called upon the Army to maintain a cordial relation with people and work for the uplift of the state.

While interacting with 5 Mountain Division General Officer in Command Maj Gen D S Sidhu here, Mr Khandu had asked the GOC to give a blanket order to all his personnel against deforestation.

During the discussion, Maj Gen Siddhu requested the Chief Minister for allotment of land for army establishment, power supply, joint effort to improve road communication and proposed for requisition of state transport buses for the forces.

The Army Chief of Western Sector of the state had also urged the Chief Minister for his personal intervention to expedite the process for establishment of National Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports (NIMAS) at Rupa in West Kameng district.

Jain muni Subodhsagarjee Maharaj died

Ahmedabad, Aug 3 (UNI) Renowned Jain Muni Subodhsagarjee Maharaj died at the Karnavati Hospital here early today. Subodhsagarjee, 86, was undergoing treatment in the hospital for quite some time. He died due to old age. The final rites of the Muni will be performed at Vijapur town tomorrow. He hailed from the famous Jain pilgrim centre, Mahudi. Religious guru Brahmananda Shastri passes away

Jamshedpur, Aug 3 (UNI) The founder of Yug Vashistha Sangha and famous yoga guru Sri Brahmananda Shastri passed away here last night. Sri Shastri was 79 and is survived by his wife, two sons and two daughters. Shri Shastri experienced chest pain at around mid-night and was rushed to Tata Main Hospital here.
