India, Zaheer move up to fifth after Trent Bridge win

New Delhi, Aug 3 (UNI) India's emphatic victory in the Trent Bridge Test of the ongoing series in England has helped the team overtake their arch-rival Pakistan and gain the fifth spot in the latest Maruti Suzuki Test team rankings.

Zaheer Khan, whose match winning performances has helped him reach the fifth spot while ever reliable Anil Kumble is placed third in the latest Test bowling ranking list.

Surprisingly, none of the famed Indian batsmen have made it to the top ten in Test batting rankings. Although Sourav Ganguly, Dhoni and Yuvraj maintain their positions in the top ten of Maruti Suzuki ODI batting rankings.

India is currently ranked fifth in both versions of the game.

Zaheer too seems to have a liking for the same as he is placed at the fifth spot in test bowling rankings. Bengal Tiger Sourav Ganguly is also ranked fifth in the Maruti Suzuki ODI batting rankings.

Australia continue to dominate the proccedings in both forms of the game. In the Test Team rankings, Australia lead with 133 points.

Sri Lanka (111 points), South Africa (102 points) and England (88) hold the next three positions.

Pakistan batsman, Mohammad Yousuf (196 points) maintains his top slot in World Test batting rankings followed by Aussie batsman Michael Hussey (189 points). The Sri Lankan left-hander, Kumara Sangakkara (182 points) and Aussie captain Ricky Ponting (178 points) are at the third and fourth positions of the ranking list.

In the Test bowling rankings, Muttiah Muralitharan maintains his hold on the top spot (198 points) over 2nd placed South Africa paceman Makhaya Ntini (188 points). Anil Kumble with highest number of test wickets for India follows at the third place with 182 points. England's left arm spinner, Monty Panesar (180 points) is at the fourth position, followed by Khan (173 points).

SAAG revenues up 26 %

Chennai, Aug 3 (UNI) SAAG RR Infra Limited, a subsidiary of the Malaysian-based SAAG Consolidated, has registered total income of Rs 1,152 lakh for the quarter ended June 2007, an increase of 26 per cent over the total income for similar period in the last fiscal. Profit after tax for Q1 FY 2007 stood at Rs 81.22 lakh, a company release here today said. Meanwhile, Mr C A V Sivakumar, a chartered account, has joined the board.....

Rupee ends firm at 40.34/35 per dollar

Mumbai, Aug 3: Rupee climbed by nearly 8 paise today to end the trade at 40.34/35 per dollar as compared to the previous close of 40.42/43 per dollar taking a cue from the investor expectations that resulted in stronger inflows to equities. Sensex gained for the second consecutive day and ended the day up by 152.70 points today at 15,138.40. In the morning, Rupee opened at 40.37/38 per dollar and touched a day's high.....
