HP waives permit for carriages carrying apples and potatoes

Shimla, Aug 3 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Government has waived the permit condition for goods carriages for transportation of apples and potatoes for the next three months from August one, an official spokesman today said.

The waiver condition would be from August one up till October 31 and would only be available to carriages of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi and UT Chandigarh, he said in a release here.

He said the permit condition had been waived off for the transportation of apples and potatoes from Himachal to markets outside the state.

Kuki militants agrees for cease fire with government

Shillong, Aug 3 (UNI) Thirteen Kuki militants in Manipur have decided to sign a cease-fire agreement with the state government, Manipur Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh said today. '' Thirteen Kuki militant outfits under the banner of the Kuki National Army and United People's Front have conveyed their willingness to go on a cease-fire with the government,'' Mr Singh told reporters here.
