Haston to prosecute malicious SMS perpetuators

Chennai, Aug 3 (UNI) Hatsun Agro, India's leading private dairy, has claimed rupees three crore compensation, against malicious SMS perpetuators, by setting in motion the legal process for criminally prosecuting as well as seeking redressal for damages.

A Company release here today said the the action by the Company had came in the wake of circulation of false and malicious messages damaging Hatsun's brand ''Arokya'' through Short Message Services (SMS) to the general public.

Hatsun had since received innumerable phone calls and written queries seeking the authenticity of the SMS.

The Company was quick to post a clarification on the website, www.hatsun.com, clearly stating the facts and rendering the SMS totally false, the release said.

It is probably the first suit of its kind in the country, the release added.

Metro or Mono Rail system in major punjab cities soon: Sukhbir Badal

Indian and Thai governments mark 60 years of ties

UBI to open 11 more ATMs

Chennai, Aug 3 (UNI) Union Bank of India (UBI) proposes to set up 11 more ATM centres across the city. Of the proposed 11 counters, eight would be opened in and around Chennai city within a couple of days, while three ATMs would be in railway peripherals at Chennai Central Railway Station, Puducherry and Kancheepuram, according to a press release here today.
