GGP leader alleges death threats

Bhopal, Aug 3 (UNI) In the wake of the recent split in the Gondwana Ganatantra Party (GGP), which emerged as a claimant of a massive chunk of Mahakaushal region's tribal votebank, allegations and counter-allegations are being traded.

GGP General Secretary and ex-MLA Dheerendra Singh Dheeru has accused party Vice-President and former Madhya Pradesh unit President Gulzar Singh Markam of threatening to murder GGP President Heerasingh Markam and him.

''Governor Balram Jakhar, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, DGP Anand Rao Pawar and others have been informed. The complaint included the cellphone numbers from which several death threats have been issued via SMS over the past ten days,'' Mr Dheeru said in a party release issued here.

Alleging that the GGP's increasing influence was irking leaders of a few political parties, he added that their role in the conspiracy could not be ruled out.
