Four drowned in boat mishap in Motihari

Motihari, Aug 03 (UNI) Altogether four people were drowned when a boat capsized in a flooded lake near Badkabaunsha village under Chakiya police station in East Champaran district today.

Official sources said the boat was ferrying 13 people of which nine swam to safety.

Sources said the mishap occurred as the boat was overloaded.

The victims were on way to Kathariya for collecting fodder.

The bodies were being fished out, sources added.

Tripura SDPO accused of using third degree in police lock-up

Agartala, Aug 3 (UNI) South Tripura Superintendent of Police(SP) K V Srijesh in a report today stated that actions should be taken against a Sub-Divisional Police Officer(SDPO) for allegedly using third degree in police lock-up on July 31. Dehradun, Aug 3 (UNI) One person died and 14 others were injured in separate road accidents in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand today. According to Chamoli SP office sources, a Bolero jeep heading towards Badrinath from Joshimath fell into the bank of river Alaknanda at Lambagad, instantly killing one passenger and injuring 9 others.
