FCI employee falls from Delhi Secretariat building, recuperating

New Delhi, Aug 3 (UNI) A 45-year-old government employee today fell from the Delhi Secretariat building at ITO this afternoon while waiting for an appointment with the Chief Secretary.

Gajraj, who worked with the Food Corporation of India, had come to meet the Chief Secretary and was trying to sit on the boundary wall of the 5th floor when he lost balance and fell from the multi-storeyed building, said the police.

However, as luck would have it, he landed on the 4th floor, receiving minor injuries.

The incident took place around 1230 hrs.

He was immediately rushed to the LNJP hospital, on a CATS van, where he is stated to be out of danger.

Agitation hit MCL coal production

Angul, Orissa, Aug 3 (UNI) A bandh, sponsored by the Congress party, today hit the coal production in six coal mines of the Mahanadi Coal Limited (MCL). The bandh was called to protest the MCL's leasing out of office building to a trust for setting up of a private engineering college at Talcher. Police arrested about 45 Congress activists including former zilla parishad chairman Digambar Garnaik, Ex-municipal chairman Keshab Bhutia, Zilla parishad member Braja Kishora Pradhan and.....

India, Pak exchange list of 20 export products

New Delhi, Aug 3 (UNI) Even as Pakistan sought more market access in India for its products, the two countries have agreed to exchange a list of 20 products of export interest to both sides by August-end and finalise procedures for their trade facilitation. The decision, taken by the third meeting of India-Pakistan Joint Study Group (JSG) at Commerce Secretary - level, was announced here this evening. MCD rationalises car, two-wheeler parking charges

New Delhi, Aug 3 (UNI) The Municipal Corporation of Delhi has rationalised car and two-wheeler parking charges and the new rates will be applicable from August 7. Addressing a news conference, Standing Committee Chairman Vijender Gupta said the rationalising will lead to transparency, saving and less payment on part of the citizens. ''The new rates will not only curb the malpractice of overcharging being presently indulged in by the contractors, it will ultimately lead to more.....
