CPI(ML) will agitate independently

Hyderabad, Aug 3 (UNI) CPI(ML) New Democracy State Executive Member G Diwakar today said his party will continue the land struggle independently and would not take part in the joint agitation launched by the CPI, CPM and other Left parties in the state.

Talking to newspersons here, Mr Diwakar alleged that the land struggle by the CPI and CPI(M) has turned into a ''political struggle''and the main objective of the agitation was neglected.

The New Democratic Party would not participate in the second phase of land agitation, he said, adding, his party would fight for distribution of land and house sites to the poor people.

Mr Diwakar also demanded that the government should constitute an independent land commission to implement the recommendations of K Ranga Rao Commission report.

Three of family killed in road accident

Parts of Muzaffarpur town flooded following breach in embankment

Muzaffarpur, Aug 3 (UNI) Large parts of this north Bihar town were inundated after a sudden breach in the embankment of the Burhi Gandak river this morning, rendering more than 200,000 people homeless. District Magistrate Prahlad Thakur told UNI that as soon as water started gushing into the township, inundating several low lying areas, a number of country-made boats were pressed into service to rescue the marooned people.
