Combined Defence Services written exam. results declared

New Delhi, Aug 3 (UNI) A total of 7553 candidates have qualified for interview for admission to five premier defence establishments, including the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun and the Naval Academy, Goa.

The three other defence academies are Air Force Academy, Hyderabad, Officers' Training Academy, Chennai and Officers' Training Academy.

The results, announced today by the UPSC, were based on the Combined Defence Services Examination held in February this year.

The interviews are to be conducted by the Service Selection Board of the Defence Ministry.

The final selection will be for the following courses: (i)Indian Military Academy, Dehradun -- 124th Course commencing in January 2008; (ii) Naval Academy, Goa -- Course commencing in January 2008; (iii) Air Force Academy, Hyderabad (Pre-Flying) Training Course for 183rd F(P) Course commencing in January 2008; (iv) Officers' Training Academy, Chennai -- 87th SSC Course (for Men) commencing in April 2008; and (v) Officers' Training Academy, 1st SSC (Women Non-Technical) Course commencing in April 2008.

BJP to launch nationawide agitation against anti-farmer policies

New Delhi, Aug 3 (UNI) Announcing a nationwide agitation against anti-farmer policies of the Government, the BJP today said a massive rally would be held at the Ram Lila Grounds here on August 20 to focus on six major demands of the farmers, including remunerative price for their products. BJP to agitate against UPA's SEZs policy

Hyderabad, Aug 3 (UNI) Describing acquisition of land for Special Economic Zones (SEZs) as one of the 'biggest scams' in the country, the Bharatiya Janata Party unit of Andhra Pradesh today said it would launch a massive strike against the government's SEZs policy which allegedly put the poor people to hardships. 'India will launch lunar satellite within a year'

Nagpur, Aug 3: India will launch it's moon satellite 'Chandrayan' within a year, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Chairman Dr G Madhavan Nair said here today. Speaking to mediapersons Dr Nair said the satellite, weighing about 560 kg, would be launched by the middle of next year and placed in the orbit 100 km from the moon.
