Boy falls into well, fighting for life

Ongole, Aug 3 (UNI) A five-year-old boy today fell into a 30-feet deep borewell that was being drilled at Botlaguduru village in Pamuru mandal of Prakasham district.

According to police here, the boy Pelluru Kartik was playing when he fell into the borewell. Immediately, the villagers noticed him and informed the officials who rushed to the spot to rescue the boy. They were providing oxygen into the pit through a pipe and were digging a parallel bore to save the boy.

The boy's shouts for help were being heard from the well, police added.

Congress consitutes standing committee ahead of assembly polls

Jalandhar, Aug 3 (UNI) Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) acting president Sukhbir Singh Badal today said that Metro or Mono Rail system would be introduced in the major cities of Punjab soon. Germany faces political pressure over IKB exposure

BERLIN, Aug 3 (Reuters) The German government is facing cross-party political pressure to cut the stake that state bank KfW holds in IKB, the troubled lender that nearly tipped the country's banking sector into crisis.
