Ashutosh storms into semis

New Delhi, Aug 3 (UNI) Ashutosh Singh kept the Indian flag flying thrashing Taiwanese qualifier Lin Tzu-Yang in straight sets to storm into the semi-finals of the ITF F7 Futures here.

In-form Ashutosh made no-contest of his quarter-final match demolishing Lin 6-2, 6-2 in no time.

In the semi-final, Ashutosh faces second seed Yu Wang Jr of China, who snuffed out another Indian hope Aditya Madkekar 6-4, 7-6 (3).

Meanwhile, top seed Aqeel Khan of Pakistan was unstoppable as he steamrolled Ito Tatsuma of Japan 6-3, 6-4 to storm into the last four.

Aqeel will take on the winner of the other quarterfinal match between Korean qualifier Min-Hyoek Cho and fourth seed Pen Sung of China. The match was hanging in balance at 6-4, 3-6 when it was stopped due to rain.

Forex reserves up by 3 billion USD

Mumbai, Aug 3 (UNI) India's foreign reserves grew by more than 3 billion US dollars to 225.350 billion dollars in past week from 222.043 billion dollars. Meanwhile, country's reserve position in the International Monetary Fund (IMF) met a dip of 10 million dollars over the week to 455 million dollars as against 465 million dollars. In other segments of reserve, Foreign currency assets rose for the second consecutive week to 218.096 billion dollars from 214.790 billion.....
