Ancient temple mahant murdered

Mahoba, Aug 3 (UNI) The mahant of an ancient Ramjanki temple in Panwadi area here was found murdered today.

Property dispute relating to the temple property, which is estimated at several crores of rupees, is said to be the reason behind the murder.

Mahant Awadh Bihari's body was found hanging from a room, which was locked from outside. The feet of the body was touching the ground.

On the basis of circumstantial evidence, police said that prima facie it seemed to be a case of murder.

The body had been sent for autopsy.

Investigations were on.
