Anantkumar tips Yediyurappa as next CM

Hubli, Aug 3 (UNI) Senior BJP leader and former union minister Anantkumar today said Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa will become the next Chief Minister of Karnataka.

Talking to newspersons here, he said there should not be any doubt of Yediyurappa becoming the Chief Minister as both the party executive and the agreement clinched between the Janata Dal(S) and the BJP were clear on the matter.

Mr Anantkumar's assertion assumes importance as he had been seen as the leader of a group in the party which was earlier not happy with Mr Yediyurappa being projected as the chief ministerial candidate from the BJP.

He accused the UPA Government of showing a ''step motherly'' attitude towards Karnataka and said his party would press in Parliament for the release of sufficient funds like the 'Vidhrabha package' for the state.
