679 Pilgrims leave for Amarnath

Jammu, Aug 3 (UNI) A batch of 679 pilgrims today left for Pahalgam and Baltal base camps from where they will move towards the holy cave shrine of Amarnath in south Kashmir, official sources said.

The convoy of 21 vehicles including 16 busses and five Light Motor Vehicles(LMV), left from the base camp of Maulana Azad Memorial (MAM) stadium for Nunwan (Pahalgam) and Baltal yatra camps at 0510 hrs amid tight security, they added.

The convoy comprised 396 men, 81 women, 9 children and 193 sadhus.

With today's convoy, the 33rd this year, a total of 49,565 pilgrims have left for Amarnath from the the Jammu base camp since July 2, sources said.

BJP to agitate against UPA's SEZs policy

'India will launch lunar satellite within a year'

Nagpur, Aug 3: India will launch it's moon satellite 'Chandrayan' within a year, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Chairman Dr G Madhavan Nair said here today. Speaking to mediapersons Dr Nair said the satellite, weighing about 560 kg, would be launched by the middle of next year and placed in the orbit 100 km from the moon. 'Jellygate' was a small incident: Monty Panesar

London, Aug 3 (UNI) It might have cost England the match but for Monty Panesar, the ''jellygate'' episode, which provoked a sleeping giant in Zaheer Khan in the second Test at Trent Bridge, is nothing but a ''small incident''.
