TATA Motors sales declines 6.6% in July 2007

New Delhi, Aug 1 (UNI) Tata Motors today said the company's sales declined by 6.6 per cent to 42,098 vehicles (including exports) for the month of July 2007 as compared to 45,056 units in the corresponding month last year.

Cumulative sales for the company at 1,69,459 units are flat.

The domestic market continues to be sluggish, due to the high interest rate regime, continuing to affect retails, the company said in a statement here.

The company's sales of commercial vehicles in July 2007 in the domestic market were 20,705 units, a decline of 3.8 per cent over 21,534 vehicles sold in July last year.

Cumulative sales of commercial vehicles in the domestic market for the fiscal declined by 2.7 per cent to 82,404 units over last year.

The passenger vehicle business achieved total sales of 17,011 vehicles in the domestic market in July 2007, a decline of 6.7 per cent over July 2006.

Cumulative sales of passenger vehicles in the domestic market for the fiscal were 68,851 units, an increase of two per cent over the previous year.

The company's sales from exports declined by 17 per cent at 4,382 vehicles in July 2007 as compared to 5,284 vehicles in July 2006.

Ambala, Aug 1 (UNI) CBI Duty Magistrate Praveen Kumar today issued notices to Dera Sacha Sauda Chief Gurmit Ram Rahim Singh and three others to appear in the court on August 31 in connection with a murder case.
