Rajkot, July 25: Rajkot city Congress president Jaswantsingh Bhatti has reasons to rejoice over the election of Ms Pratibha Patil as President of India.
Ms Patil had been his guest when she had visited the city from March 1 to 4, 2004, as a Congress observer in the Saurashtra region for the Lok Sabha elections. Mr Bhatti couldnot stop recalling that visit.
For four days Mrs Patil had stayed as a guest in his house as the election code of conduct prevented her from staying in the Government Circuit House, recalled Mr Bhatti while speaking to sources.
Mrs Patil, the Rajkot city Congress chief recalled she had taken a tremendous liking for ''Kathiawadi'' meals and ''Khichhadi-Kari'' was her favourite.
Mr Bhatti said he had sent a congruatulatary message to Mrs Patil and would invite her to visit Saurashtra again in the near future.
