Vigilance files chargesheet in three corruption cases

Patna, Jul 19 (UNI) The Bihar State Vigilance Bureau today filed chargesheet in special courts in three separate cases of corruption against five people, including a retired Deputy Collector.

The first chargesheet was submitted against Rajgir Rajak, a Deputy Collector (since retired) in the court of special judge of the bureau Satya Prakash Narayan Singh under various sections of Prevention of Corruption Act.

According to the charges, Mr Rajak had amassed property of worth Rs 2.30 lakh, disproportionate to his all known sources of income in between 1968-1992. The case in this connection was registered in 1997.

The bureau had submitted second chargesheet in the same court against the then secratary of Arariah Bazar samiti Surendra Kumar Sinha and two collecting agents of the samiti under various sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Prevention of Corruption Act.

According to the charges, all the three accused had misappropriated the public fund of Bazar samiti during 1985-86.

The third chargesheet was submitted against Delhi-based businessman Kanhaya Lal Rajgadhiya under various sections of Indian Panel Code and Prevention of Corruption Act in the court of designated judge S K Panwar.

These chargesheet were being submitted on the directives of Patna High court. The vigilance has to submit a report before the High court on July 24 in regard to the investigation of old pending cases.

Central Bureau of Investigation to probe Satyam fraud

New Delhi, Feb 17 (ANI): Corporate Affairs Minister P. C. Gupta has said the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) would probe the Satyam fraud.Other investigative agencies probing the fraud however would continue with their work, Gupta said."The case has been handed over to CBI. As far as Serious Frauds Investigation Office (SFIO) and other investigative agencies are concerned, they will continue to carry on with their job. The CBI would look into all aspects including the criminal aspect," he.....
