Missapropriation case: Inquiry to be completed in 3 months.

Bangalore, July 19 (UNI)Karnataka Power Minister H D Revanna today assured the Legislative Council that the pending Departmental inquires into misappropriation charges against employees in various Corporations in the Energy Department will be completed in three months.

Replying to a question by Mukhyamantri Chandru (BJP), he said he would issue necessary directions in this regard to the officials concerned. However, no time limit can be given for the cases pending in the court, he added.

He said there were 104 cases of misuse of power.

Financial misappropriation has been reported since 2006.

He said a case of drawing materials without doing work in Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) had come to light and investigation was in progress. Necessary action would be taken after detailed investigation, he said.

No consular access to indians in Pak jail: Pranab

New Delhi, Mar 14:  The government today informed the Lok Sabha that at least 92 Indian civilian prisoners in Pakistani jails have yet not been given consular access."Besides 390 fishermen and 149 civilian prisoners and 74 PoWs are still languishing in Pakistani jails," External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee said in a written reply.The minister was asked whether the government had any reports of inhuman treatment meted out to Indian prisoners in Paksitan.The minsiter said Indian prisoners released by Pakistan had reported.....
