'Mah Govt to conduct inquiry into building collapse'

Mumbai, July 19: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil tonight announced that an inquiry would be conducted to ascertain the reasons for collapse of 'Laxmi Chhaya' building at Borivali in North-West Mumbai.

Mr Patil said the state government will provide suitable compensation for the dead and those injured in the collapse.

He said all those found responsible for the collapse, after the probe, will be punished severely.

The Minister was talking to mediapersons at the Bhagwati Hospital, where 10 of the injured have been admitted. Several of the injured are being treated at private clinics.

He enquired about their condition from doctors and relatives.

The building was not in the list of dangerous buildings, he said.

'India sought only 3 suspects, not 20'

Islamabad, Dec 5: Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani's Adviser on Interior Affairs, Rehman Malik, has that India has only sought 3 terrorist suspects and not 20 as has been reported by the media.He also said that the list submitted by the Indian Government does not include the name of Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, the head of the Lashkar-e-Toiba, which is being accused of masterminding last week's Mumbai terror attacks  that claimed nearly 200 lives and caused injuries to nearly.....
