Hindustan Dorr bags Rs 30cr order from Vedanta

New Delhi, July 19: Construction company Hindustan Dorr Oliver Ltd today said it has bagged an order from Vedanta Alumina Ltd worth Rs 30 crore.

The order is for the construction of a complete in-plant water circulation and distribution piping system and compressed air piping with accessories for Vedanta's five million ton per annum Aluminium Smelter Plant at Jharsuguda, Orissa, said a press release.

Execution of the project will be completed by December, 2007.

The company is already working alongwith its Chinese partner, Chaileco, in the Jharsuguda refinery for a Fume Extraction Plant valuing Rs 210 crore.

Palm tops for TTEs for feed on vacant berths

New Delhi, Feb 26:  Palm tops will be given to Railway Travelling Ticket Examiners(TTEs) so that they can feed to the Passenger Reservation System (PRS), the information about berths/seats falling vacant at the eleventh hour.Under the existing system, reservation charts are brought out a few hours before the departure of trains. Often due to unforeseen circumstances, several passengers with reservations do not travel, resulting in many berths remaining vacant.Since this information is not fed into the PRS.....
