Centre to frame National Security Strategy

Kolkata, Jul 14: With the aim of reducing burgeoning cyber crime in the country, the Centre will frame a National Security Strategy (NSS).

Speaking at a seminar on Cyber Security organised by Bengal Chamber of Commerce&Industry here today, Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (under Union IT Ministry) Senior Director B J Srinath said the Security Strategy would enable the government to create a national cyber alert system to stop cyber crime.

''We will invest Rs 600 crore for Research&Development on cyber security in the next five years. This is also part of the NSS,'' he said.

The other basic features of the NSS include legal framework, cyber security assurance system.

He also mentioned that Indian IT Act would be placed in Parliament in this session.
