Russia keen to attract Indian students to its universities

New Delhi, July 9 (UNI) Russia is keen to attract Indian students to its universities.

A two day exhibition-cum-presentation to promote higher education in Russia was organised by RACUS, an organisation of the foreign students studying in Russian Universities, on July 7 and 8 at Russian Centre of Culture here.

A group of Russian educational experts specially flew in from Moscow to guide and assist the Indian students seeking admission to Russian Universities.

''We have 500 special higher courses like medicine, engineering, MBA, aviation, economics, humanities and training is carried out not only in Russian but also in English and French,'' Ali Nutsalov, deputy director of RACUS told UNI.

Scholarships are offered to students with higher percentage, though the number of scholarships are limited.

The Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Kolkata, Chennai and Mumbai also provide information related to education in Russia.

The two-day fair here concluded yesterday giving students an opportunity to explore various career options in Russia.

''Russia has become a magnet for the world intellectual elites.

So, we are here to make education in Russia accssible to more people.

For those who cannot come here personally, the Centre has its own website(www.edurussia.ru) to help them,'' Mr Nutsalov said.

The queries asked online are answered and booklets are sent through courier for proper guidance, he added.

Besides this, the organisation keeps on publishing newspaper advertisements frequently in the national dailies.

Mr Nutsalov also said ''We are planning for Indo-Russia student and professor exchange programme in near future to strengthen the relation between the two countries. In these two days we have recieved a good response from the students and parents here.'' After graduating from a Russian University, one receives a degree with the European appendix which enhances the prospects to continue education in European Countries and one may also look for job opportunities in Europe.

Dinos 'evolved wings to attract mates'
