Pilgrimage to holy Amarnath resumes, 18587 Pilgrims on way to cave

Srinagar, July 9: Notwithstanding the melting of holy Shivalingam and other controversies, an encouraging number of pilgrims from all over the country are visiting the holy Amarnath cave as yatra resumed this morning after remaining suspended yesterday due to bad weather.

''We have resumed yatra from both routes Baltal and traditional Pahalgam tracks following improvement in the weather condition,'' Director Public Relations, Shari Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) Madan Mantoo told UNI

Srinagar: Two more Amarnath yatris die; toll at 14

Srinagar, July 17: A Gujarati resident and a soldier died while on their pilgrimage to holy cave shrine of Amarnath, a police spokesman said. With this, 14 pilgrims, including a Muslim yatri, have died and 11 others were wounded since the start of the two-month-long pilgrimage to the cave shrine in south Kashmir. An 82-year-old man Raoji Bhai of Gujarat, died due to massive heart attack at Baltal base camp last night......
