One anti-social act enough to be booked under Gangster Act: HC

Allahabad, July 9 (UNI) The Allahabad High Court has ruled that a single anti-social act is sufficient to book a person under the Gangster Act.

A two bench comrising Justices K S Rakhara and S K Jain dismissed a petition filed by Sabir and others of Agra.

The petitioners had sought questioning of FIR particularly for offences under section 2/3 of Gangster Act.

The petitioners' counsel had argued that on the basis of single offence under section 3/4 of Gambling Act, one cannot be booked under the Gangster Act.
