Bangalore, July 9: Bangalore Police Commissioner Neelam Achyuta Rao today said the police had widened the scope of investigation into the antecedents of siblings Kafeel and Sabeel Ahmed allegedly involved in the failed Glasgow Airport Attack but no arrests had been made so far.

Addressing a crowded press conference here, Mr Rao said help had been sought from the Intelligence Bureau and police from other states to unearth Ahmed siblings' links with terror outfits.

''We are inquiring about the movements of Kafeel when he was in the city early this year. We are investigating on the links Kafeel had in India and Bangalore, in particular and the likelihood of terrorist activities he was supposed to have taken part in,'' he said.

Mr Rao said the UK Police had not contacted the city police so far on the case. Inputs were being received from different quarters and the investigation was in progress. He could not divulge the details as it could hamper the investigation.

''I have nothing to reveal. Investigations are on and if there is anything we can share with you, we will will come up with it,'' he said fending a barrage of questions from mediapersons.

When newsmen pressed him further on various reports appearing in the media the Commissioner said ''When there is nothing to tell you what can I say. When there is nothing to say and I say something, it will lead to nothing. I cannot comment every time on scores of speculative reports appearing in electronic and print media. We are not avoiding the media. If someone keeps on imagining something we cannot do anything about it. When we have something to show, we will do it''.

The official said police were in posession of a 'high capacity' hard disc belonging to Kafeel which was recovered from his house in Banashankari II Stage. "We are exploring the possibility link between the Glasgow attack and the Attack on Indian Institute of Science in December 2005 in the wake of other recent terrorist incidents in the city.

Joint commissioner Gopal Hosur said the police did not have any 'disclosable' information on the Ahmed family references given by Pakistan citizens who visited the country.

The press conference was held to exhibit gold jewellery and other articles worth Rs 20 lakh seized by the city police who had also arrested seven persons in this connection.
