Dengue case detected in Surendranagar dist

Surendranagar, July 9 (UNI) A case of dengue has been detected in Surendrangar district of Gujarat.

Official sources said an eighteen-year-old girl Rahenaben Dilwarbhai, resident of Mochiwad area of Dhragandhra, who was suffering from fever, tested positive for dengue.

The patient was suffering from light fever on July 1 and was treated in a private clinic at Dhrangadhra. Later, she was shifted to Surendranagar Hospital. Her blood sample was sent to Ahmedabad Green Cross Laboratory, which confirmed that she was suffering from dengue, sources said.

District Health Officer J H Solanki said, if necessary, the second sample would be sent to Ahmedabad Laboratory for further diagnosis.

However, doctors attending her said she was recovering fast.

The administration has instructed residents of the area to take urgent steps to prevent mosquito breeding in their homes and other localities.
