BJP demands enquiry into Obulapuram company

Hyderabad, Jul 09 (UNI) Alleging that the Obulapuram mining company, owned by the Karnataka MLC G Janradhan Reddy, was exploiting the resources without permission in Andhra Pradesh, state BJP unit President Bandaru Dattatreya today demanded that the state government order a judcial enquiry by a sitting High Court Judge into its 'illegal' activities.

He demanded that the government stop leasing the new mines and renewal of the existing mining leases to the company until the report was submitted.

Mr Dattatreya alleged that the mining company also 'demolished' a temple of the tribals for mining purpose in Anantapur district last year.

The company and govenrment officials colluded and created 'fake' documents by saying that the temple was not located in the mining area, he also charged.
