UP: 6 booked under Dalit Attrocities Act

Pratapgarh, July 9: At least six people have been booked under various sections of the Dalit Attrocities Act in Kunda kotwali here.

Police today said a dalit, Kesh Prasad of Raiyapur village yesterday lodged a named FIR against six people for allegedly assaulting, using abusive language and forcefully putting him behind the bars on November 4, 2005 on the directions of an MLA.

The accused, were identified as former Inspector Lallan Sharma, sub-Inspectors Shailesh Rai and Ramveer Singh, constable Habibi.

Besides, some PAC personnels were also accused in the case.
