Flight develops snag, runway closed

Kolkata, July 3 (UNI) The main runway of the NSCBI airport had to be closed for about half-an-hour today after a Deccan flight from here to Delhi via Raipur developed a technical snag.

Airport authorities said one of the wheels of the plane reportedly got stuck while it was proceeding on the runway at 0630 hrs.

Chennai, Feb 20: The Air Customs officials seized foreign currencies worth Rs 13.01 lakh, meant for smuggling to Singapore, from a Colombo-bound passenger at the Anna International airport here yesterday.Talking to newspersons today, Customs Commissioner C Rajan said Tippu Sultan (35), hailing from Ramanathapuram in Tamil Nadu, who came here to board the Singapore-bound Air Lanka flight via Colombo, was intercepted at the security check point. Fog paralyses London's Heathrow airport again

London, Dec 22: Thousands of travellers struggling to get home for Christmas faced another day of chaos and frustration today as London's Heathrow airport was blanketed in fog. ''The weather across much of the UK is regrettably showing little sign of improvement,'' said Geoff Want, director of ground operations for British Airways which has cancelled all domestic flights.
