TRS leaders held; heavy security at Secretariat

Hyderabad, July 2: Police today arrested senior Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leaders when they tried to proceed towards the Secretariat to lay siege, demanding that the government implement GO 610 and repatriate all non-local government employees from Telangana region.

The TRS leaders, including MP Ravindra Naik and Madhusudhana Chary, were arrested along with party activists at the Secretariat.

Meanwhile, special forces and 25 platoon police forces have been deployed at the Secretariat to prevent any untoward incident. The vehicles were being allowed towards the Secretariat only after thorough checks.

Reports from the districts in Telangana region said the police have made preventive arrests of TRS leaders and activists who were coming to Hyderabad. Security has been beefed up and police checkposts were set up on the outskirts of the city.

Left being 'soft' towards UPA: TRS
