HAL Bangalore gets new Managing Director

Bangalore, July 2: Mr Ashok Nayak has been appointed as the Managing Director (Bangalore Complex) of Defence aviation major Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL).

Mr Nayak has been elevated to this high-profile post, following the superannuation of Mr A.K. Saxena on June 30. Mr Nayak assumed office on July 1, 2007. Prior to this he was the General Manager of Aircraft Division, HAL said in a release here.

"I will strive hard to achieve higher customer satisfaction with focus on prompt delivery and serviceability," Mr Nayak said soon after assuming the office.

Mr Nayak joined HAL in 1973 as a Management Trainee and has to his credit over 33 years of experience in Manufacture, Quality Assurance, Production Planning Control, Customer Service and Engineering Services. During his tenure with the Aircraft Division, Mr Nayak led the production teams of Jaguar, Lakshya and Hawk, apart from spearheading HAL's export activities.

K'taka: HAL receives RFP from Chile for Dhruv

Bangalore, May 23: Indian Defence Aviation major Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) will submit next month its proposal to Chile's Request for Proposal (RFP) for the indigenously developed Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) 'Dhruv'. HAL has received the RFP from the Chilean Air Force for the 5.5 tonne, twin engined new generation helicopter which has already been supplied to the Indian Defence forces. HAL Director (Corporate Planning and Marketing) M Fakruddin told UNI today.....
