Sops to SC, ST, VJNT, OBC, EBC students to continue: Patil

Mumbai, June 28 (UNI) Maharashtra deputy chief minister R R Patil today said the government will bear the fees of the students of SC, ST, VJNT, OBC and EBC category taking professional courses in the private colleges.

Talking to reporters here, Mr Patil said the decision was taken last year and will continue this year also. However, the facility will not be available for the students of BEd and DEd students.

The government will bear 100 per cent fees of SC and ST students, and 50 per cent of OBC, VJNT and EBC, he said and added that effectively, the government will have to borne a burden of Rs 245 crore for one year.

Muzaffarabad, Dec.8 (ANI): The chief of the Jamaat-ud-Dawa, the political wing of the banned militant organization, Lashkar-e-Toiba, Hafiz Muhammad Saeed has accused India of wanting to destroy Pakistan-controlled Kashmir.Saeed told Geo News that the ongoing operation in Pakistan Kashmir was under Indian pressure, and this was unwarranted.Saeed further said that the targeting of Kashmiri organizations without any proof was an expression of weakness.Earlier, wanted Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) commander, Zakiur Rehman Lakhwi was reportedly arrested by Pakistani army personnel.....
